I received an invite from one of my managers at Salty's on a CALL-for-Entries for a little project called Seattle SoundBite. It's a fundraising concert at Showbox Sodo that features restaurant-employee rock bands performing while fantastic Seattle restaurants serve "street-style" bites. The only two requirements are that at least one member of the band must be currently employed in a restaurant or foodservice-related company, AND they must be available to perform on Thursday, April 8, 2010 should they win. Full details are below.
SEATTLE, Wash. - The Washington Restaurant Association Seattle Chapter and Caffe Vita Coffee Roasting Company present the third annual SEATTLE SOUNDBITE CALL FOR ENTRIES! Between now and Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, Seattle SoundBite will be accepting entries for the chance to perform in the form of CDs and MP3s. This delectable event will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at The Showbox Sodo.
Rules for Entry:
1. At least one member of the submitting band must be currently employed within the food service industry.
2. All submissions must be received by Friday, Jan. 15, 2010.
3. All entries must include band member names, name of member who is currently employed within the food service industry and contact email and phone number.

This annual pairing of great music and street-style bites is now in its third year. Net proceeds from Seattle SoundBite will be donated to ProStart and The Vera Project. Previous performers have included Helio Sequence, Sunday Night Black Out, Picoso and Sue Quigley. Participating restaurants have included Tango, Serafina, Cantinetta, Via Tribunal, Red Door and Ray's Boathouse.
