King Crossfit

I have never done anything like this before, but man is it challenging! I have climbed huge trees where I grew up, hiked mountains like Mt. Si, played basketball and baseball with the most feared neighborhood kids, zip-lined YS falls in Jamaica, worked-out tough too, just to look great for Mish and Jeff's wedding, but man this is the real stuff man! Thanks for bringing something new and challenging to my life. See you tonight King!

Splenda or Equal Nutrasweet? What's healthier?

Hello family & friends!

Just wanted to let you know that I did a little research on Splenda and Equal Nutrasweet. I really wouldn't know which is best, but Splenda seems much better than Equal. There hasn't been any long term studies on Splenda but researchers from Duke are producing articles and findings of low bacteria found in normal fecal matter, GROSS. It doesn't state any long term affects yet?

There were many articles published on Equal in the last few years. For a very long time unpublished articles on the product were known, but never released.

Splenda is not natural; it is a chlorinated artificial sweetener, (does that mean we are consuming chlorine?) There have been no long-term human studies on the safety of Splenda; however, issues have been raised about Splenda in a new study from Duke University.
According to the study, Splenda suppresses beneficial bacteria and directly affects the expression of the intestinal….. anatomy, decreased bacteria which helps produced normal fecal matter. The actual scientific breakdown is available on

FDA Final Rule on Sucralose ( You can also check http://www.truthaboutsplenda.com/resources/medical.html )
"Sucralose is a disaccharide (carbohydrates made up of two sugar molecules) that is made from sucrose in a five-step process that selectively substitutes three atoms of chlorine for three hydroxyl groups in the sugar molecule. It is produced at an approximate purity of 98 percent.

Equal Nutrasweet- read the article! Scariness! Many side affects apparently.

I guess were damned either way. There isn't really anything that's super duper great for you, but as long as you stick with whole natural foods, you are pretty safe. The nutritionists I work for states there are so many studies on everything we eat. The best way to handle the never ending articles on sugar substitution, foods, organic to non organic fruits and veggies is to do the research yourself, and then decided what you think is best for you and your family.

Next Get Together: March 26th, Friday

Hello beautiful(s),

I hope you all have been well. We couldn't settle for less could we? =)

I wanna say thanks to the ladies that made it out a couple of Friday's ago at my condo. And hope those who didn't make it can make the one coming up this month. The tentative date I am shooting for would be Friday, March 26th. Location: TBD.

I was possibly hoping you would participate in a Mary Kay demonstration of products, make up and lotions. My supervisor Lynn Maleta http://www.marykay.com/lynnmaleta/default.aspx is a delightful woman who loves to care for people and care for her staff. I have purchased many products, make up bags, make up remover, mascara, and more. She knows how often I get together with the ladies, so I thought that maybe we can get together around 6:30pm that evening, participate for an hour look at all the different eyeshadows, lip gloss, lip sticks, brushes, lotion, and more for an hour and move on to dinner "Beautified." You are not obligated to purchase a thing but to just have fun.

We have gone to Brunch, laid out on Movie night, now we can do make-up and have Dinner?!!

I would like to know how many of you would be willing to participate. I would really appreciate it if you would! Pretty please?

Please suggest a place to dine in the Seattle area, since the Mary Kay demonstration will be a little pass University of Washington. If you want to carpool we can make arrangements.

If you have a suggestion for April make sure to throw it out there too!

January 10th, Brunch Gathering @ Portage Bay

So I thought I'd give this blogging thing a shot. This is a place where we can share ideas, memories, photos, jokes, or simply your thought of the day to each other.
Had a blast yesterday with the ladies!

So my thought of the day is what am I going to do today that has something to do with my intellect, spirit, mind and/ or body...??

What about you?
